Effective Date: September 11, 2026
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and Ourl.in ("we", "us", or "our"), governing your access to and use of the website (ourl.in), our official Google Chrome Extension, developer APIs, URL redirection services, and associated applications (collectively, the "Service").
By registering an account, shortening a URL, installing our Chrome extension, accessing our API, or using any part of the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Acceptable Use & Abuse Prevention Policy and Privacy Policy.
Ourl.in operates strictly as an automated digital intermediary and technical redirection tool. Ourl.in does not pre-screen, verify, curate, or endorse user-submitted destination URLs, nor do we host the underlying content found on third-party servers. Users access destination websites entirely at their own risk. However, to maintain platform integrity, we deploy proactive security scanning and enforce strict abuse prevention measures.
1. Account Registration & Security Obligations
When creating an account on Ourl.in, you represent and warrant that:
- You are at least 18 years of age or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction.
- All registration information you provide (name, email address) is accurate, current, and verifiable.
- You will maintain the strict confidentiality of your authentication credentials and password.
- You are entirely responsible for all links generated and activities conducted under your user account or API keys.
- You must notify us immediately at support@ourl.in upon discovering any unauthorized use or security breach of your account.
2. Incorporation of Acceptable Use & Abuse Prevention Policy
All users must comply fully with our Acceptable Use & Abuse Prevention Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Strictly prohibited activities include, without limitation:
- Phishing, fake banking or fintech login pages, and credential-harvesting schemes;
- Malware, ransomware, trojans, spyware, keyloggers, exploit payloads, and drive-by downloads;
- Financial fraud, deceptive crypto exchanges, advance-fee loan scams, and counterfeit commerce;
- Impersonation of brands, companies, celebrities, or government entities;
- Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or minor exploitation (subject to immediate termination and criminal referral);
- Bulk unsolicited messaging (spam), smishing, forum spam, botnets, and DDoS attack triggers;
- Infringement of copyrights, trademarks, trade secrets, or other proprietary intellectual property.
3. Dynamic Destination Changes & Ongoing Monitoring
URL shorteners route visitors to third-party endpoints. You acknowledge that destination webmasters may alter target content after a short link has been created.
- Continuous User Responsibility: You remain legally responsible for the destination URLs linked through your short codes, including any subsequent modifications to those endpoints.
- Automated Security Scanning: You authorize Ourl.in to perform automated security, reputation, and redirect-chain inspections on submitted links without prior notice.
- Post-Creation Takedown: If a previously safe destination URL is modified, compromised, or redirects to malicious content, Ourl.in reserves the right to immediately disable the link and block the destination domain.
4. Developer APIs & Automation Rules
If you utilize Ourl.in developer APIs or automated tooling:
- API keys are confidential and must not be shared, published, or resold without explicit written permission.
- You must adhere to documented rate limits and reasonable operational quotas.
- Automated link generation for spam campaigns, smishing, or malicious distribution is strictly prohibited and results in immediate API revocation.
- Ourl.in reserves the right to modify, throttle, or terminate API access at its reasonable discretion.
5. Enforcement, Non-Circumvention & Emergency Action
To preserve security and comply with statutory obligations:
- Proportionate Enforcement: We reserve the right to suspend, deactivate, or delete links, block destination domains, revoke API tokens, and restrict user accounts, IP subnets, or devices associated with abusive conduct for such duration as reasonably necessary.
- Emergency Action: We may take immediate action without prior notice where reasonably necessary to protect users, protect the Service, prevent fraud or malware, comply with applicable law, respond to lawful requests, or prevent imminent harm.
- No Circumvention: You may not generate replacement links, create duplicate or surrogate accounts, rotate proxy networks, or use automated solvers to bypass platform restrictions or blocks.
- Repeat Offender Policy: Repeated or severe confirmed violations result in account termination and restriction of associated identifiers without eligibility for restoration.
- Discretionary Warnings: While warnings may be issued for minor issues, Ourl.in does not guarantee advance notice or warnings before acting against security threats, phishing, malware, or unlawful acts.
6. Google Chrome Extension Terms
These Terms apply equally to our official Ourl.in Chrome Extension. The extension is distributed in compliance with the Google Chrome Web Store Developer Program Policies. Local activity cached in the extension popup is stored exclusively on your device and is automatically cleared when the extension next initializes on a new calendar day. We do not guarantee uninterrupted interoperability across third-party browser updates.
7. Intellectual Property & Takedown Procedure
Ourl.in respects intellectual property rights. If you believe a short link directs to content that infringes your copyright or trademark, submit an infringement notice via our Contact & Abuse Reporting Center containing: (a) identification of the copyrighted work, (b) the specific Ourl.in link, (c) proof of ownership or authorization, and (d) your verified contact details. Upon verification, infringing links will be disabled promptly.
8. Law Enforcement Cooperation & Statutory Compliance
Ourl.in cooperates with competent law enforcement, cybercrime units, and judicial authorities under the Information Technology Act, 2000, the IT Rules, 2021 (as amended), and applicable statutory laws. We disclose records and preserve forensic logs pursuant to valid court orders, summonses, or statutory requests, without requirement to notify the affected user where prohibited by law.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT SHORT LINKS WILL REMAIN ACTIVE INDEFINITELY.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OURL.IN, ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, REPUTATION, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, OR ANY THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES ACCESSED THROUGH OURL.IN LINKS.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Ourl.in, its operators, officers, and employees against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, expenses, or legal costs arising out of: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) any links or destination content you submit; (c) your breach of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; or (d) your infringement of any third-party rights.
12. Governing Law, Jurisdiction & Dispute Resolution
These Terms, their interpretation, and any disputes arising out of or related to them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles. The competent courts located in New Delhi, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any legal proceedings arising hereunder.
13. General Contract Provisions
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with the Acceptable Use Policy, Privacy Policy, and Cookies Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Ourl.in concerning the Service.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
- No Waiver: Failure or delay by Ourl.in to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not operate as a waiver of such right or provision.
- Survival: Provisions regarding intellectual property, indemnification, warranty disclaimers, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution shall survive any termination of these Terms.
- Modifications: We reserve the right to revise these Terms periodically. Material updates will be indicated by revising the "Effective Date". Continued use of the Service following revisions constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
